Three Medals from Belgium

Five Max Potential athletes represented Turkey at the G1 Belgian Open Taekwondo Tournament, held on March 21–22 in Lommel, Belgium. Zehra Begüm Kavukcuoğlu, Fatma Zehra Akyazıcı, and Zeynep Zilan Ülgüt claimed medals, while Şefika Çakal and Şevval Çakal gained valuable international experience.
In the junior division, Zeynep Zilan Ülgüt won silver at 42 kg and Fatma Zehra Akyazıcı claimed silver at 49 kg. Both athletes stood out in their categories, competing against some of the tournament's strongest opponents.

In the senior division, Zehra Begüm Kavukcuoğlu stepped onto the podium with a bronze medal in the +73 kg category — a reflection of her steady rise on the international circuit.
Turkey's national team dominated the overall standings, finishing at the top with 30 medals: 8 gold, 12 silver, and 10 bronze. Turkish referee Sinem Gültaş was also honored with the tournament's Best Referee award.
